Scaling Search with Big Data and Solr

Sold out! Waiting list only! - Contact info@lucenerevolution.com if you’d like to be placed on the waiting list.

This instructor-led, hands-on training course for Solr developers is designed for developers who want to:

  • Leverage the flexible search functionality of Apache Solr together with the Big Data power of Apache Hadoop
  • Create the indexes for both general search and augmented data analytics
  • Get hands-on with lab exercises using real-world examples that show the code at work

Class participants will learn about Hadoop from the ground up, covering MapReduce, HDFS – the Hadoop Distributed File System, cluster management, "the shuffle," etc., prior to connecting to Solr. Students will study common use cases for generating search indexes from big data, typical patterns for the data processing workflow, and how to make it all work reliably at scale. We will explore an in-depth example of processing 1 billion records to create a faceted Solr search solution. Click here for details and a full course outline.
